The Liberty Pumps Model 406 is a 1/6 HP appliance-grade compact drain pump built for under-cabinet, under-sink, and in-cabinet installations where a traditional basin pump will not fit. At only 10 inches tall with an appliance-style ABS housing, the 406 connects to showers, bar sinks, laundry trays, dishwashers, and dehumidifiers — including floor-level shower plumbing via its side inlets. A single stepped discharge adapter covers 1", 1-1/4", and 1-1/2" pipe sizes. The pump cartridge removes in a quarter-turn for wet-end servicing without disturbing any plumbing. Made in the USA. CSA certified to UPC requirements.

Appliance-Style — Fits in Cabinets

The 406's rectangular ABS housing is designed to sit neatly inside a vanity cabinet, under a laundry sink, or in any enclosed space where a round basin pump would not fit or look out of place. At 10 inches tall and 13.2 inches wide, it installs where no other Liberty drain pump will.

Floor-Level Side Inlets for Shower Plumbing

The 406's side inlets are positioned at the base of the unit, specifically to accommodate shower drain plumbing that runs at floor level. Each side inlet includes an integral check valve adapter. This is the feature that makes the 406 the right choice for bathroom renovations where a shower is added below the gravity drain line.

Quarter-Turn Removable Pump Cartridge

The entire wet end — impeller, shaft seal, and volute — removes as a single cartridge with a quarter-turn, accessible through the top cover without disconnecting any plumbing or moving the unit. For a service call, this is the difference between a 5-minute part swap and a full system teardown.

Single Stepped Discharge Adapter

One adapter handles 1", 1-1/4", and 1-1/2" discharge pipe sizes — the installer cuts to the step that matches the existing pipe. No separate adapters to order, no incorrect-size issues on the job site. The integral check valve is built into the same adapter.

Important Notices

Temperature limit	Do not exceed 104°F (40°C) for continuous duty, or 140°F (60°C) for intermittent duty (10 sec on / 5 sec off). Operating above these limits will cause pump failure.
Water only	This pump has been evaluated for use with water only. Do not use with chemicals, flammable fluids, grease, hydrocarbons, sand, cement, or abrasives.
Discharge	Never discharge into an open drain, fixture, manhole, or rainwater drainpipe. Only direct connections into sanitary waste systems are acceptable.
Venting	Do not use air admittance valves or mechanical spring-loaded venting devices. The air pressure inside and outside the unit must be equal — one-way vents prevent proper function.
Inflow limit	Tank inflow must not exceed pump discharge capacity at the installed head level. Oversizing the inflow will cause the unit to overflow.
Washing machine	Use of a lint trap on a washing machine drain is recommended for proper check valve performance. Connect washing machines indirectly via a laundry tub — not directly into the pump.
Electrical	Must be connected to a GFCI receptacle. Do not use an extension cord. GFCI receptacle must be a minimum of 40" from a shower or bathtub, and 48" from the floor for basement installations.
