The Liberty Pumps Model 405 is a 1/2 HP factory pre-assembled commercial drain pump and basin, built for higher head applications in commercial and industrial buildings where drain water temperatures can reach 180°F. The 405 handles 3/8" solids and features QuickTree technology for float switch access without disconnecting plumbing. Fully automatic operation, oil-filled thermally protected motor, and a corrosion-resistant polyolefin basin with integrally molded rubber gasket make this the go-to drain pump for bar sinks, commercial kitchens, laundry trays, and dishwasher applications.

The oil-filled, hermetically sealed motor runs cooler and quieter than air-filled alternatives, and the built-in thermal overload protection shuts the pump down before damage occurs if the motor is overloaded — then resets automatically.
Gas-Tight Integrally Molded Gasket
The rubber gasket is molded directly into the polyolefin basin — not a separate component that can shift or degrade separately. Meets the 10-foot stack test requirement, meaning it holds the seal even under full drain stack back-pressure conditions.

| Chemical use | Not intended for use with chemicals, flammable fluids, grease, hydrocarbons, sand, cement, or abrasives. Use with these substances voids warranty and risks pump failure. |
| Temperature limit | Do not operate with fluid temperatures above 180°F (82°C). Exceeding this limit will overheat the pump and cause failure. |
| Electrical | Must be connected to a GFCI receptacle meeting UL 943 requirements. Do not use an extension cord. Requires a separately fused, grounded branch circuit sized for pump voltage and amperage. |
| Grounding | Pump must be properly grounded using the supplied grounding conductor. Never bypass the ground prong. |
| Disassembly | Field disassembly beyond float switch removal voids warranty. Contact Liberty Pumps or an authorized service center for internal repairs. |
