The AMT 4851-97 is a 1/8 HP TENV Bronze centrifugal marine pump 3/4" bronze 12 vdc 1/. These pumps self-prime (to 4-1/2 ft. lift with pump filled) and can be used as a bilge pump for small boats or a water system pump in campers and trailers. Self-Priming to 20 Feet — No Foot Valve Required
Built-in check valve enables consistent self-priming to 20 feet of dry suction lift. No foot valve, no external priming pump, no manual flooding of suction line required. Re-primes automatically after momentary loss of prime.
Pull-From-Rear Design — Service Without Disturbing Piping
The pump casing pulls from the rear of the motor without disconnecting suction or discharge piping. Seal replacement, impeller inspection, and cleanout are all accessible from the motor face — significant labor savings on installed pumps.
TEFC Motor — Continuous Industrial Duty
Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled motor prevents moisture, dust, and contaminants from entering the windings. Rated for continuous duty. NEMA 56J frame allows direct replacement with standard off-the-shelf motors from any supplier.
Stainless Steel Motor Shaft — Corrosion-Resistant Seal Interface
303 stainless steel shaft at the seal interface prevents corrosion-driven seal failure — the most common failure mode in chemical transfer pumps. Cast iron shafts corrode at the seal face over time, eventually preventing proper mechanical seal contact.
Dual Volute Casing — Reduced Radial Bearing Load
Dual volute design balances hydraulic forces on the impeller radially. Single-volute designs create a net radial force that accelerates bearing and seal wear at off-BEP operating points. The dual volute extends service intervals on continuous duty applications.
Chemical Compatibility to Specific Gravity 1.3
EPDM/EPR seals handle dilute acids, alkalis, and water-treatment chemicals with specific gravities up to 1.3. The cast iron casing and seal selection make this pump suitable for chemical transfer where standard Buna-N construction would be inadequate.
