Description
The AMT 3391-99 pumps self-priming solids handling pedestal pump. AMT Self-Priming Solids Handling Pedestal pumps are designed for direct or belt drive. Specific units are available in cast aluminum, cast iron or thermoplastic construction material. The units feature 3/8″ to 2″ solids handling construction and are
Pedestal Drive Configuration — Flexible Motor Selection
Pedestal drive design separates the pump end from the motor — allows selection of any NEMA-frame motor for the required HP, speed, enclosure, and voltage. Speed and performance are set by pulley ratio, not motor selection.
V-Belt Drive — Adjustable Speed
V-belt drive allows pump speed to be tuned by changing pulley size — without changing the motor. When application requirements change, adjust the pulley ratio rather than replacing the entire pump and motor assembly.
Heavy-Duty Bearings — Designed for Belt Drive Loads
The pedestal incorporates oversized bearings specifically designed for the radial load imposed by V-belt drives. Standard close-coupled pump bearings are not rated for belt tension loads — pedestal drive bearings are.
Wide HP Range From Single Pump End
A single pump end model accommodates motors ranging from fractional HP to multiple HP by changing only the motor and pulley configuration. Stocking one pump end covers multiple HP requirements.
Stainless Steel Shaft
Stainless steel shaft extends through both bearings, providing a corrosion-resistant surface at both the seal interface and the belt-side bearing seal — preventing shaft corrosion that would otherwise cause premature seal failure.
Self-Priming Capability
Pull-from-rear design allows impeller and seal service without disturbing the belt drive, motor mounting, or piping connections — reducing service time on installed units.
| Model Number | 3391-99 |
| Series | 2″ to 4″ Solids Handling Pedestal |
| Category | Pedestal Drive Pumps |
| Max Temperature | 180° F |
| Max Fluid Temperature | 180° F |
| Fluid compatibility | For use with non-flammable, non-abrasive liquids compatible with pump component materials. Verify chemical compatibility before use. |
| Seal compatibility | Always verify seal material compatibility with your specific fluid and chemical conditions. |
| Electrical | Requires a properly sized, grounded branch circuit. Do not use an extension cord. Protect motor with a properly sized thermal overload relay. |
| Temperature limit | Maximum fluid temperature 180° F. Exceeding this limit will damage seals and motor insulation. |
